Follow the law of reciprocity for sharing and giving to others and, according to Luke 6:38, you will receive the same or more in return.
St. Luke 6:38 (NIV)
To clarify this information, I am simply saying that in order to make what you do give return to you with increase, you need to put your faith into the idea that you will receive back what you have given. This doesn't mean that we give to receive, but as we give with a cheerful heart, it is scriptural to believe for our return.
We are talking about a cycle that must be perpetuated. For instance. You give a neighbor $45.00. When you give that money you have to have the faith that God will bless your giving in regards to the person who received it and in regards to you for giving it. Doing this means that you have produced 2 faith seeds. One for the $45.00 you gave and the other a seed for the law of reciprocity to take place over your giving.
If you give the money desiring your neighbor to be blessed, but produce another faith seed based upon worry that you couldn't really afford to give the money, you will have one positive faith seed and one negative faith seed. The two opposing seeds will cancel each other and leave a void. Therefore you will not receive your blessing.
To develop positive faith seeds for money, you must look to your heart and see where your faith is for giving. Give what you can have faith for and then sow a positive faith seed. When you receive your return, you can give more. With money faith seeds, you need to develop your faith in increments if you are new to giving money to others or projects, tithes and offerings. It's that simple!
In regards to
your return, you do not have to be thinking about receiving your return
in the exact amount. Just give, say you will receive your
return, and then be confident that it is on its way to you from
somewhere. Then be open to the different channels of
blessings God will use to bring your return. In other words,
don't worry, be happy and thankful!
Why
Should We Develop Our Faith For Giving?
2 Corinthians 9:6 tells us that if we sow sparingly we shall reap sparingly. We can also sow abundantly and receive in great supply. So as we follow this verse, we will develop financial increase for the rest of our lives. If you're deeply in debt, apply this lesson of the law of reciprocity to the practical method you're using (debt counseling, budgeting, Chapter 13, etc.) to get out of debt and you will see your money situation change rapidly. You will step onto the path of abundant living.
2
Corinthians 9:6-11
6. "But this
I say, He which soweth
sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully
shall reap
also bountifully.
7. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give;
not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always
having
all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
9. (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the
poor: his
righteousness remaineth for ever.
10. Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for
your
food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your
righteousness;)
11. Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth
through
us thanksgiving to God.
